What is ThereMail?
ThereMail lets you e-mail your There friends at their home e-mail address while protecting real-life information, such as name and e-mail address. Our servers will hide the e-mail address, replacing it with "youravatarname@there.com."
Tips for Protecting Anonymity
If you don't want to reveal your real name and e-mail address, make sure that you don't accidentally include that information in your e-mail. Check your signature, if you have one, for that kind of information. Also, be careful about sending e-mail to There addresses and non-There addresses at the same time. The people with non-There addresses will see your real e-mail address information!
Using ThereMail
Start by either selecting People > Email or by clicking the envelope icon next to the name of the person you want to e-mail. The ThereMail page will step you through the e-mail process.
Please Note: Our e-mail forwarding system will only send a ThereMail if it comes from the e-mail address associated with your avatar (Check your profile to see which address is on file). Also, you cannot attach any executable attachments (.exe) to ThereMails. We do this to protect our members from spam and viruses.
Reading
Theremail is sent to your email box on file with There, via real email. To read your theremail, simply access the email account associated with the address you gave us when signing up. You can see which email address we have on file for you, or change it, by going into My Profile and then clicking on User Info, when logged in as your avatar.
