January 13th neighborhood Visibility feature unleased!
Good news, Neighborhood owners! We’ve been working on a new feature that will allow a Neighborhood zone owner the ability to turn off the visibility of objects located outside of the Neighborhood boundary. This is something that’s been requested by Neighborhood owners for the past several years and we are very excited to be able to offer this functionality to you.

Here’s how you can check it out:
    1. Go to your Neighborhood zone details page
    2. Scroll down and look for a new check box titled “Hide objects outside of this Neighborhood.”
    3. Check the box, wait for the page to refresh, and then watch as the decorative items outside of your zone boundary magically disappear from sight!

Yes, that means if you’re standing inside of the Neighborhood and this setting is turned on, you will no longer be able to view PAZes and other Neighborhoods outside of the Neighborhood boundary line. You’ll still see the beautiful terrain, sky and ocean outside of the Neighborhood boundary, but you just won’t see other people’s objects. Now you can have a permanently pristine view!

Of course if you do still want to see the items outside your zone, just leave the checkbox unchecked. It is completely up to the discretion of the Neighborhood owner to turn on or off the visibility of other objects outside of the Neighborhood. This feature is for Neighborhoods only and is not available for Lots or PAZes.

Try it out and let us know what you think. If you are experiencing any issues with the new Neighborhood feature let us know.

January 31st There releases the Developer Buyback program.
    (A letter from Michael Wilson)
As promised, we are ready to begin the Therebucks BuyBack program we announced earlier this month. We are really excited about it, and are looking forward to providing developer a secure, competitive, and There.com backed way to cash in on their hard work.During this period, we have decided to waive charging you any additional fees over what PayPal charges. Of course, at some point we will have to start charging fees to cover our costs, but, once again, our goal is to provide a competitive and safe way for Developers to redeem their Therebucks - not engage in currency arbitrage to make a profit.

With that being said, here is how it works

    1. At least once a week, There will have a redemption session for a confidential allotment of Therebucks. On these days, There will select redemption requests from ThereBanker in the order that they were received. We will qualify each request using the rules below.

2.Via PayPal, we will credit you the US $ for your request, and then take the Therebucks out of your account. We will send you an email indicating your redemption was completed.

3.We will repeat the above until we have exhausted the allotment for this redemption.

    4. If there is a problem with your request, we will send you an email explaining it.

    5. If you do not have enough Therebucks in your account to cover your request, we willl send you an email asking what you would like to do. Youll have 24 hours to respond.

    And here are the rules

    1.
To be eligible, you must be a developer.

    2. You must be a member in good standing. You must not have been found guilty of texture theft. You must not have had any chargeback requests on Therebucks purchases.

    3. We will only accept one request at a time during a redemption session. Do not send duplicate requests. They will be deleted. When you have had your request fulfilled you can send in your next request.

4.You can only redeem Therebucks you have made by selling developer items. Therebucks you have collected from Sparkles, Tips, or give trades from other members are not eligible.

    5. To request a redemption, send an
email. Make sure you include the following information: Subject line of email should be formated with T$ BuyBack Avatar Name

    Email should contain:

    avatar name
    amount of T$ to redeem
the email address associated with the avatar

    6. To cancel a request, send an
email with subject line of: Cancel Redemption - Avatar Name.

    7. Please do not send support requests, complaints, compliments, etc to ThereBanker.

    That is it. Pretty simple.
One final note: Please do not attempt to game the system. It is not fair to There, and it is not fair to other members. Also, you will not be cheating There their members out of virtual currency, or virtual goods, you will be cheating us out of real money. Fraudulent transactions will not only put you at risk of permanent banning from There but may also qualify for escalation to law enforcement as well.
Since we are just getting started, we know even though we have tried to plan this out carefully, we are sure there will be little bumps in the road as we work things out. Thanks ahead of time, for your good will and participation.
The doors are open as of now submit your redemptions and lets get started. We plan on the first redemption next week!

January 28th There announces revisions to the map system!
Want to know where you’re going? Do you know where’ve you been? Track your explorations through There on the newly updated There Maps! You can expect updates to the There Maps on Friday January 29th.

More land masses have been added to the There Maps to make exploration across the different islands fun and accessible. You will notice a big change on the Aurora mainland as well as the addition of the island chains located off the north and south coast. Also look for island additions around the Comet mainland. The biggest addition to the There Maps comes in the shape of a bottle! Coca-Cola Island has been added to the There Maps. Look for the special shaped landmass on the new map. Visit the
PortaZone Pop residential community on Coca-Cola Island. In addition to the terrain updates on the maps you can now easily teleport to Coca-Cola Island from the quick links under the map legend.

Do you own your own Neighborhood Island in There? Are you ready to put your Neighborhood on the Map? Let us add a Teleport Link to your Neighborhood Zone on There Maps! Teleport Links provide an easy route for prospective Lot tenants to find your Community. Whether you’re looking to attract potential tenants or just visitors, this is a great way to advertise your Neighborhood’s location. Read the
directions on how to submit a request to have your Neighborhood added to There Maps.
