The community yard sale in the virtual world There.com provides members with a unique opportunity to engage in buying, selling and trading various items with friends and neighbors. There will be a diverse range of items available including vehicles, clothes, hairstyles, props, homes, household items, holiday decor and more. Shop the Auctions or visit a yard sale event scheduled for November 24th – 26th.
How do I sell or trade items in the community yard sale?
First, you’ll want to organize all of the items you want to sell. It’s helpful to create a special yard sale folder in your My Things inventory and transfer all of your treasures into one easy to find location. Next you’ll need to decide if you want to list your stuff online in the Auctions or drop your items in-world and schedule a yard sale event.
If you have a one-of-a kind, limited-edition or rare virtual good that you want to sell and you think you can get top dollar for, you might want to consider holding an Auction for your special item. You could list it for a 1-day auction or a 3-day auction to close at the end of the community yard sale. An auction allows multiple interested buyers to bid on your item. You can also set the Auction payment type to collect PayPal in addition to ThereBucks.
Take advantage of the three-day weekend and set up a yard sale with all of your items in-world for folks to walk around and browse. Schedule an event or multiple events for your yard sale. Make sure to use the keyword yard sale in your event listing and add what type of items you are selling in the description. It is important to be present at your yard sale event so that you can wheel and deal with potential buyers. The best way to set up a secure sale transaction in person is with a trade window. The trade window allows you to add multiple items in one transaction and it easily allows the buyer to add ThereBucks or other items for trade.
The community yard sale is a great place to get rid of any holiday items you don’t want anymore. Everyone is looking to buy Christmas decorations right now. Arrange your Christmas decorations in an appealing and eye-catching manner. Consider setting up a small Christmas-themed display that showcases the items together, creating a festive atmosphere.
Shop merchant supplies to help set up your in-person yard sale. You can purchase mannequins to display clothes or you can purchase an item dispenser which is a sign that will display a picture of the item along with an auction link.
How do I buy or trade items during the community yard sale?
First, you’ll need to buy ThereBucks to purchase virtual goods. You can buy ThereBucks with your PayPal account or use the Stripe virtual payment option to pay with your debit or credit card. Once you have virtual currency you can shop the online Auctions for goods or visit a yard sale event in-world.
Browse the Auctions for sweet deals and look for items that can be purchased with your PayPal account or ThereBucks. The item will either be available as a Buy Now purchase or listed for sale in a limited time Auction during the community yard sale event.
If you are a see it before you buy it type person you can visit individual yard sales scheduled for Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Check the Activities page ahead of time for yard sale listings and sign up for the scheduled events. You’ll have the opportunity to browse the virtual goods in person, be able to talk to the seller and conduct sales transactions or trades. An easy way to get information about the items available in the yard sale is to go to This Place> View Decor. The best way to make a purchase is through a trade window.
